Our continuous efforts in the field of research and development frequently result in new products or product improvemens. In the course of 2008 two new products came to the market:
Lockable version of the dynamic arm support TOP/ Help. Some TOP/Help users are in need of the possibility to lock the horizontal movements of their device temporarily. A fixes position of their arm support allows them to perform precision tasks or to lean and push themselves up. A locking mechanism is also valuable in the case a wheelchair mounted dynamic arm support is transported (e.g. in a bus). For these reasons the extension segments of the TOP/ Help are now also available with a locking mechanism that interlinks these various segments. The development of this locking mechanism was not a ‘quick fix’. Locking is done by pushing a button. Consequently a pin locks the first segment. From there the following segments are locked by a mechanically driven mechanism. No electric wirings or electric components that easily wear are used. Locking is possible in any position. 
Electric version of the dynamic arm support ‘SLING’. Our dynamic arm support ‘SLING’ is now also available in an electric powered version. Persons who could no longer use this device but appreciate its properties and working principle now have the possibility for prolonged use. In addition, this version will a specific new user group still having very limited muscle functionality.  

This is not the complete list of all innovations that have been realised in the course of 2008. The rail system of personal robot ‘BRIDGIT’was further improved by the application of a new synthetic rail that reduces noise. Also a version of the rail system that allows for docking of the robot on the front end of the wheelchair was realised. This version specifically aims at the users of very large electric wheelchairs e.g. ventilator users. 

For many years FOCAL Revaldatietechniek BV has had her domicile at Berkel- Enschot, a suburb of the community of Tilburg. In a rural environment all tasks like administration, production and distribution were done from three separate buildings on one allotment. As times went by, the firm expanded each year and at the moment the company is definitely in the need of a state of the art building that meets the present needs. A new building is now under construction in the community of Tilburg, at the brand new business park T58 (link). We expect that this new building will be at our disposal mid February 2009. The new building will offer new business opportuinities and we will be glad to receive our customers and relations then in a new and inspiring environment!
