Special products
Apart from standard products FOCAL Meditech BV can supply custom made Assistive Technology products. These products are manufactured in small series or on request and they evolve out of intensive consultation with the users. They are produced under constant quality control in our own production facilities.
Examples are:
BASKET - a storage device for wheelchair users that are unable to grab objects from the back of their wheelchair. The BASKET swings to and from the user through a unique pivoting electric displacement mechanism.
ADL STANDARD - a modular device for persons with little or no hand function. The ADL STANDARD basically is an adjustable standard that after the user’s choice comes with a mini table, ash tray or holder for drinks. This device allows the placement of objects nearby the face thus facilitating independent drinking, smoking or object manipulation.
B.E. APPARATUS - a therapeutic device for the exercise of arm range of motion. Especially used by persons suffering from spinal cord injury.
TRACK-R. TRACK-R is a training device for the arm function of stroke survivors. TRACK-R is in an evaluation stage. In this device a dynamic arm support is used to enable movements of the hemiplegic arm. Arm movements are tracked by a video camera on top of the device translating arm movements into cursor movements on the screen of a computer in front of the user. Users are challenged to perform interesting games thus exercising their paralysed arm in an independent and pleasant way . First evaluations indicate the usefulness and clinical effectiveness of this device.
SPECIALS - unique products that are produced once or in (very) small series like:
- Electric, proportional adjustment of head support systems.
- Individually adjustable wheelchair trays.
